Shortcuts/redirects between folders in Power BI Report Server

I am sure this is a question that has been asked previously, but I can't find it.

I have an on-prem Power BI Report Server.
my reports are divided up into various folders

I have one report that 'belongs' in two folders.

I don't want to have two copies of the same report, I can see them getting 'out of sync'

Is there a way to create a shortcut form one folder to another?

can a 'blank' power bi report forward to another or somehow redirect to another report?

Hi @doug_sheehan

Power BI Report Server does not natively support creating shortcuts or symbolic links to reports across multiple folders. However, there are a few possible workarounds to avoid duplication and keep the reports in sync. One option is to create a simple Paginated Report (RDL) in the second folder that contains a hyperlink or an embedded action directing users to the primary report’s URL in the main folder. Another method is to use report subscriptions to distribute the same report to different users or teams, reducing the need for direct folder-based access. If modifying the report URL is acceptable, you can also create a minimal Power BI Report (PBIX) in the second folder that contains a button or a text box with an action linking to the primary report. This way, when users access the report in the secondary folder, they are seamlessly redirected to the actual report in the primary folder. Additionally, if using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) APIs, you could automate publishing updates to multiple locations when necessary, ensuring reports remain synchronized. While these workarounds do not create a true "shortcut" within Report Server, they help maintain a single source of truth while allowing access from multiple locations.
