How to replace values on one column with corresponding values from another source

Hi everyone,

I am working with 2 data sources; Data Source 1 is a simple list that has the Staff's Name and their corresponding Staff ID which the system uses. Data Source 2 is a list of Job Numbers and the corresponding Staff ID.

How would I be able to replace Data Source 2 Staff ID to the corresponding Staff Name from Data Source 1 via Transform Data?

Example:

Appreciate any help and guidance on this one, thanks in advance!

Hi lbendlin ,thanks for the quick reply, I'll add more.

Hi @dcheng029 ,

Try using the 'Merge' operation in Power Query.

The best way is not to do that.  Let the data model do the work for you.

Hi @lbendlin,

How do I have the data model work for me?

My question was how to replace the values in one data's column using second data's column values when the Staff ID matches?

Cheers.
